All about Magic Wood: Cade Juniper<\/strong><\/p>

Cade (Juniperus Oxycedrus) is a juniper tree of modest size, a little brother of the softwoods (fir, spruce, etc.).<\/p>

Its evergreen leaves are needles with fine, prickly tips.<\/p>

<\/p>

Bois de cade, or juniper cade, is a shrub that grows on arid, rocky soils and thrives in hot weather. It grows in the Mediterranean basin, from Languedoc to Provence and Corsica.<\/p>

This tree is naturally oil-rich and highly fragrant.<\/p>

<\/p>

It is a shrub that can reach 6 to 8 m in height, and can be recognized by its very prickly needles and round (red-brown) fruits.<\/p>

The essential oil of Bois de Cade has always been extracted. Cade was burned in stone ovens built in the garrigue. <\/p>

<\/p>

ITS USE<\/strong><\/p>

Cosmetics<\/strong>: Used in certain cosmetics for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.<\/p>

Aromatherapy<\/strong>: its relaxing properties help reduce sadness and depression. <\/p>
